Anyone know where I can take my grandkids to a public playground in lower Puna area? I saw a nice one across from the Catholic Church in Pahoa, anyone know if that's public? I know about the small one behind the Pahoa community center & the Shipman park one, but not much else. Mahalo Nui Loa
Today, we took our granddaughter to the children's playground in Leilani Estates. It is directly across from the community association office. We were invited to go there by a resident of LE and there was no one else using the playground. There were no baby swings but they did have a variety of play stations for very young children and, of course, swings. There was also a covered picnic table and one for very tot-sized kids. Nice!

Where is the one at Isaac Hale supposed to be? We had heard it was supposed to be opening in February, but when we went there this weekend we didn't see anything even started. Wondering if they are still planning on building it?

My kids love Lincoln Park in Hilo right downtown. Big play structure, 2 sets of swings, one for little guys and a big grassy yard to run around. There's a homeless element on the opposite end of the park but they keep to themsleves. Angela
