Always happens on a Sunday.
Not a feeder from a fixture. Farther downline past the last fixture. It is draining very slowly, like almost nil. I got some heavy duty Rooto Drain Cleaner. Concentrated sulfuric acid. Nasty stuff. Poured a lot in. Did nada.
Enough time has passes that I don't think the sulfuric acid is going to do the trick. Since there is sulfuric acid in that line now, I really do not want to try to snake it myself.
Any suggestions for a reasonable Sunday cure? It could wait until tomorrow. But....
I know this should be in building. But I figure more people might see it here.

I'm on a septic. Probably a 3 BR capacity. 4 years old I guess. 1 BR here now and 1 person. Can not possibly be full. Very careful what goes in it.

Septic works off of a drainfield. The water table can have an effect on it as can excessive rain. If that is the case advice would be different. Is this an issue?
Is the whole house stopped up? If that's the case there should be a clean out close to your house between your house and the tank. It could be shallow buried or exposed. Screw off the cap and see if it's backed up past there. You can often run a small diameter hose into the cleanout but use one without the end on it. You can use water pressure to force the obstruction. If you are able to run the hose all of the way into the tank and it just backs up more when you run water through the hose then it's a drainfield issue, probably involving rain or water table issues. Again, is it the whole house that's backed up?

Oink, thanks. It was the whole house. I had located the clean out. But blockage before that. You got me thinking tho. Luckily, it had been roughed in for another toilet. Complete with flange. I found that and I was able to get the plunger on that and that did the trick. Will be a MUCH better and less smelly Sunday.

myomy,
You can fix this yourself, as there are only
four things you must know to do any kind of plumbing.
1. Shlt flows downhill.
2. You get paid on Friday.
3. The forman's a jerk.
4. Don't bite your nails.
Hope this helps. [

If you call a plumber after pouring in drain cleaner, let them know you did that.
