Computer virus...HELP!!!

Last night while doing search on my PC (windows XP), I had the similar problem as Royall had here, http://www.punaweb.org/Forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=11705&SearchTerms=virus

After doing the system restore back to the previous day, it appears all my files are still there. Then I did the scan and auto fix file errors as Microsoft suggested. Went to bed while it's still running. This morning I can't see any files on my hard disk.

I try to do the system restore again, but I can't get pass the screen "Confirm Restore point selection" after hit the NEXT button. Now I'm stuck.

And I don't have any backup files.[][]

Well, I took my PC to the computer repair shop Friday morning and just got it back today. Found out after I got home that all files were still hidden.

Thanks to Alex for bringing up the old thread. I did the google search as rbakker suggested and found the tutorial from bleepingcomputer.com on how to unhide the files and folders. Everything is back to normal now...(I hope).
And a big thanks to rbakker for e-mail me and offer help. You are so kind.
