As a owner of a dozer i felt i must reply,I have also done work for John Rabi,We make every effort to give the land owner exactly what he /or she may want,and we assist the owner in saving as much native trees and plants as possible,we call it Lava Carving,doing the least ammount of ripping possible to create an functional space without ripping the entire lot.But that being said there are others that don't care and want the entire lot ripped,We offer a service just like ordering in a restaraunt we can bring you you steak very medium rare or very well done ,it's up to the owner.I also would be happy to meet with any interested lot owners and discuse your clearing needs.As far as not paying and i have had my share,not due to customer being unhappy but there are folks out there that just plain rip us off,these dozers are very expensive to maintain,breakdowns can be in the thousands of dollars a wack,we try to keep ours very well maintained to keep that from happening. And for an owner nothing is worse than having a huge machine sitting on his lot for months because the dozer owner dosent have the money to fix it.

My neighbor didn't do any ripping before he built his house. He just cleared the land and built right on the lava. The largest machine he used was a backhoe. It's all permitted, legit and a nice looking house.
