House insurance
#1
Aloha, I am looking to buy in Puna in the near future. Can anyone tell me about procuring house insurance in zone 3. Is it expensive, available? Thank You in advance.

first of all welcome to punaweb. secondly, i just did a search on "homeowner's insurance". there seems to be 2 pages that may be relevant to your question. try that.

Welcome Steve,
We had a house in escrow last summer. When I called around for estimates on insurance, it was no different than here. Lava Zone three is pretty normal, when living on a volcano, I guess. Our escrow fell through, and since then unexpected expenses are making us wait to sell our home in Washington, before we buy. So I am even more desirous of getting settled in Puna. What a beautiful place.

We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our
exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the
place for the first time.
