The Punaweb Operating Committee decided a couple weeks ago the elevate the Puna Politics Forum for the duration of this election year. We do so at this time. Feel free to discuss politics on Hawaii County and State of Hawaii politics.
This is done to bring timely and important elective issues to everyone's attention whether you choose to participate in the Puna Politics Forum or not.

I am happy to see this decision was made Rob and Operating Committee! It should bring more issues to the top (literally) and hopefully encourage educated and involved voters.

I STRONGLY disagree - PunaWeb has been a forum for everything Puna and the general forum has been (pretty much) just that. Making the "Politics of Puna" a first view priority changes the dynamics DRASTICALLY.
Is Puna Web now JUST a Puna Political outlet for the "PunaWeb Operating Committee" and other political minded entities?

Politics are not my thing either, but it's no problem to click down one level.
I found out long ago I can't win a political argument no matter how right I am!
I'm still gonna sneak a peak once in a while.....

Since this is for the duration of the election, I'm not so concerned about the reasoning. I also think it makes sense as so much "Puna Politics" end up in "PunaTalk" simply because its on the top and they don't scroll down to the end. This may just keep Politics in Politics. [
