Possible solution. What is the minimum sized building that HELCO will hook up to with their power drop? It may be better to make a usable structure and underground conduit from that to your eventual subpanel. I have been trying to get Hawaiiantel to respond to this same issue and still waiting to hear back. I don't like the look of a pole, and if I need the small building anyway ( I do) I can make it without drilling down into blue rock. Hoping this is my phone line solution, maybe it could be yours as well.

I don't know about the 6" poles the the 4" poles from Mirandas are 4" outside diameter. From Central Supply they are 4" inside diameter, which is the size the straps and fittings are made for. The Mirandas poles may also be a thinner metal. I do know that when I put my ladder against the pole and started connecting the triplex I though "this pole is really flimsy--won't buy one of these again."

They come in 21' and 24 foot lengths. If you want to connect phone lines to the pole you need a 24 6" pole. As an alternative, you can put in two poles, one at 4" and one at 2" and these can be 21' poles.
