They are using new forum software, which is very modern and up to date. That is why you have to re-register.
I am new to both sites and I enjoy both. Punaweb has a history and is full of useful information, particularly in the building and gardening forums. I appreciate that this has been started and maintained by Rob for free! Bravo! Its in the Punatalk forums where the problems seem to be, as is the case with every forum. The free talk forum is always where the action is, as a result thats where the opinions come through and the fights start. Every forum needs a common ground, in our case thats Puna. Its when people start using group think in opinions that the problems start for a few individually minded people or the group when flipped around. Punatalk is obviously left leaning politicly, so people like Tom lackey were never gonna fit in and would always ruffle the feathers of the group. He obviously picked up on that and zeroed in, his nature is that of a feather ruffler. Don't feed the trolls is a good idea here, though people need to understand that one mans troll is another mans hero. So YOU need to avoid getting in conflict with a viewpoint that you disagree with. This is a very fine line as everybody likes a good discourse/argument, when two people are opposed it will almost end in an argument. Baiting can either be passive or active, but its the lured one who is always responsible for taking the high ground and avoiding confrontation. "Don't feed the trolls" Due to the left minded group think on Punaweb I do not think oppositional Ideas will ever be welcomed.(Not to mention Rob has set guidelines for what sort of discourse is permissible, as is entirely his right to do so.)
So for me personally, I appreciate the knowledge shared on Punaweb without the heavy opinions. However when it comes to free talk Punaonlines anything goes attitude is more up my alley, because I am young dumb and full of cum (and libertarian). So stop the fighting and enjoy life's differences and most of all enjoy this beautiful land of Aloha! [
