how about arguing with the original post then? That would be fine, instead you go off many times on ranching. That is not an argument, it is you hyjacking the thread way off-topic.
Orchidlandguy - Try reading the original post.
Then, read my response - which simply uses an analogy in a rebuttal.
Obviously, you are unable to understand this, which is why you and silverpenny and dugger attacked me, even though others stated similar opinions as mine.
The 3 of you are unable to have any sort of discussion unless everyone agrees with you.

kalama boy:"What is a Hawaiian anyway?"
IMHO, I think Hawaiian is more a philosophy, rather than skin color or race. It means living simply, humbly with the laws of the land rather than the laws of man. It means taking care of the aina because of the deep rooted understanding that this is what shelters and feeds and nourishes us, physically as well as mentally and emotionally. It's a knowing that destruction of our natural resources will lead to our demise. It's a connectedness to the core, to the source. It's the 'Aloha' that extends to all, the welcoming that goes beyond the islands. If you observe closely, you can definitely tell who the Hawaiians are, and it has NOTHING to do with skin color.

The original post was quoted directly from Malu `Aina Center for Non-violent Education & Action, yet you went on to attack me because you don’t like the message. You attack Dugger because he/she agrees with the message. You make false assumptions and accusations that you cannot substantiate. You have nothing to stand on, yet you continue to create pilikia. I happen to think Jim Albertini sacrifices much to fight for what’s just/right and stand with him. He’s got enough cahones to stand up for others, even at a detriment to himself. You could learn a thing or two from Mr. Albertini.
It is my opinion, that Mr. Albertini cannot see the forest, for the trees. Others have posted against your beliefs, but you seem to only attack me.
I simply used an analogy to show why your post (someones else's letter) is maybe without merit. You didn't like my reply and attacked me.
I feel sorry for you that you don't cannot understand why others may have an opinion against your own.

mdd7000:"All cattle ranchers, such as silverpenny, should give their stolen land back to the Hawaiian people first, as a gesture of goodwill."
Your first response to my post.
silverpenny10:"Where's your humble pie? Baseless suppositions about someone whom you know nothing about, are ignorant . Continued baseless suppositions about something you know nothing about, are signs of psychological pathology."
My response to your response.
No one else here made the false supposition that I'm a cattle rancher except you. Nobody called me out except you. No one here made the false supposition that I'm Dugger except you. Nobody continues to make false suppositions/accusations except you. This is a pattern, cannot you see the forest for the trees? Isn't it tiresome to be so antagonistic all the time? Can't we all get along?

silverpenny- you have a history of not getting along with your neighbors. Video from numerous websites proves it, which is why I posted the links. No aloha from you, apparently?
So you aren't a rancher, I thought we went over that on an earlier post? So, again, are you going to give that land back to native Hawaiians (back to your original post).
What do you do with all that land you have that you pretend not to have? Should I post county property records?

Hmmm...let's see. One son live on one end, another lives next to him, sister lives down the road. Grandkids all around in the area. We all get along together famously. You know something I don't?
mdd7000, your delusion know no end.

Alaskana, to answer your point. Do I believe that sovereignty is a possibility? In all likelihood not. However, I consider the sovereignty movement to be an excellent starting off point for discussion on what has happened to the Hawaiian people. Once a sovereign nation, the people who initially occupied these Islands are now an underclass. They suffer more poverty, homelessness, disease (specifically incidents of breast cancer), and poor education than any other ethnic group here. This is after their land was stolen by imperialist factions of the US. To you Hawaii resident rednecks, this is historic fact and really can't be rewritten. I think a lot of this is explained in the Akaka bill which can be accessed on LexusNexus.
As I stated before, any discussion has to begin with Hawaii being a sovereign nation at the time of annexation. Saying that Kamehameha is an intruder or occupier the same as the US is nothing short of absurd. Please. And saying that Hawaii does not belong to the Hawaiians due to the fact that it was uninhabited before the first Polynesians arrived is equally absurd. The absolute fact is Hawaii was a country. There is no legal precedent for what happened here. Even the greatest Imperialistic country ever known, Great Britain, was able to give sovereignty back when it realized it's legal and moral obligations.

an independent Hawaii and a true democracy based on a many (more than 2) party system may be a refreshing change

The constitution allocates the rest of the government's power to the legislature and judiciary. Britain became a constitutional monarchy under the Whigs; other constitutional monarchies include Belgium, Cambodia, Jordan, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, and Thailand.
