Aloha All,
With the yahoo users group, I am attempting to make sure there is a strict control that information posted there is only factual. When items are only a matter of opinion I am trying to make sure they say exactly that. It is also information that can be updated as status changes.
I know I have a very volatile subject and have worked many new hours on formulating a logical and sound way that the entire area may be assisted. While doing the research I found previous articles and quotes in newspapers. For example if you do a google search
hurricane insurance hawaii
On page one of the results is an article I wrote 2 years ago.
This indicates one of two things, either
1. There is little material being published, or
2. Thousands of people have been reading articles I have written.
I think the answer is both.
One difficulty with a public forum is the inability to go back and make corrections and updates to prior posts. I see my current latest post here already has an error. I changed the name o the users group. Here is the new link:

If possible, could a moderator of this forum correct the link I supplied earlier.

I have spent over 60 hours in the last 2 weeks writing and organizing the users group.
Please do not cut and paste large sections of the documents I have placed on line.
Again, these matters are of great importance to many people and I want to be able to
make corrections and expand areas that are not understood.

Here are the major elements:
1. Recognition of fact Lava Zones 1-9 designations were not intended for the real estate community and lack any ability to indicate where properties are in current peril.
2. Recognition of the fact volcanoes are not extinct, dormant, nor inactive. There are now four official terms that should be used.
3. The formation of new lava zones 11, 12, and 13. These zones address fact use of 9 zone system led to redlining and inaccurate property descriptions.
4. Public education, and collection of data.
5. Evidence why Hawaii Island residents should have the option to decline hurricane coverage. Or, hurricane insurance rates should be based upon the actual risk to Hawaii Island residents and not based upon using Hawaii Island residents to subsidize people that live in other areas.
I must stress greatly that the subject material effects the lives and property values of thousands about thousands of residents as well as millions of dollars paid in insurance premiums. Therefore, read the materials presented before jumping to conclusions. If you find areas that need clarification tell me.
Thank you for those that are greeting me on my return to the Big Island! It is good to be back with you even if for now it is just via the Internet. I am not physically back on the Island yet. I have several matters to clear-up before I can leave and some stops to make along the way.
