Aloha all...
Anyone have any experience with window screen (& door) contractors?
Also, experience/advice with various materials?

Alumside is the biggest one in town and I have been very happy with them. I know there are other ones.
There is a screen product that a lot of manufacturers have now that has very small openings in the screen. The screens are practically invisible, keep out smaller bugs but are just as strong. If you are having screens made, ask for this type of screening. You'll love it.
Also, the unpainted aluminum framing seems to corrode most quickly.

we had our lanai screened in by SCREEN PRO. Worked out great. 2 years later and the very large screens are still tight as a drum.
Just make sure he uses same type of screws so they don't corrode the aluminum frames.
Over all very happy with the job here is the guys # 217-2665

I was an Apartment Maintenance Technician for a few years and screens are EASY to make yourself. Home Depot or like type store, will have everything you need, aluminum frame, screen materiel, corner inserts and the thin rubber rope. A hack saw with the proper blade will cut the frame. The corner inserts pack should say exactly how to measure your cuts so everything fits right. Just measure all the frame, rope and screen you will need and take a sample screen to the store with you so you get the correct size frame. Good Luck. Mr. Natural
