How to entice lizards to move out of my house?

This is a serious question. I hate chemicals but have gotten rid of ants and roaches and various other insects in the house. But, I now have 2 large lizards that I see regularly sunning themselves at various points in my house. My cat and dog ignore them. (yes, I understand that the lizards could be eating any remaining insects, but at this point- I would love to live the sans reptilian life).

You need more rats. Then to solve the rat problem some mongoose. Just kidding, you are lucky to have only two lizards, most nights I have 5 in my bed. We have an understanding though, they can stay if they eat bugs and do the dishes once in awhile, my kids aren't ever going to.

Carefully pick them up and put them outside while explaining that there will be more bugs out there. If you're unable to touch them bare-handed, get some big salad tongs.

Our usual technique with geckos in the house is to swoop down on them (when they're in reach) with a dish towel in both hands and wrap them up for deposit outside. Typically they will hesitate just for a moment when they see you coming. The towel gives you some latitude for capture when they do bolt and you're not left with a wriggly tail if you miss.

OK, I will try and find them and then get a dishtowel or salad tongs and capture them. They do hide very well... I think they may live behind my fridge because it gets warmer there. At least they are not in my bed! That actually happened to me in New Mexico. I was hoping some kind of smelly food that I could put right outside the door or something, and they would just walk out on their own...

Geckos are harmless, they eat many different kind of bugs, cockroaches and Termites!

If you really want them out of your house, the best way to catch them is soft microfiber cloth, scoop them up and put outside. Please do not use glue traps to trap them.

I guess I always considered the lizzards in and out of the houses in Hawaii as one of the little joys of living in paradise. They are fun to watch and keep the pests down. If you just have a couple, why not just name them and let them stay as pets?

just catch them take them outside and release them...

if they are Phelsuma Geckos, when they are on a wall put a larger clear tupperwear over them, slide a piece of sturdy paper or thin cardboard under them, then take it outside and put them on a broadleaf plant like heliconia, banana, palms etc.

if you are scared, get over it a lizard wont kill you, or even draw blood lol... have someone else do it then, its easy I catch them at my moms all the time and bring them to my place...

save our indigenous and endemic Hawaiian Plants... learn about them, grow them, and plant them on your property, ....instead of all that invasive non-native garbage I see in most yards... aloha
