Food For Thought
#11
Everyone we visited on our last trip stuffed "avos" in our hands when we were leaving. The big smooth skinned "avos" were the best. It sounds like a great idea. How would you get something like that started?

Buy Avos??? [Big Grin] I thought in Puna when everyone's trees are exploding with fruit you get bags of them left on your doorstop! (just teasing you Kelena!)

Really I think a a small part of the problem is we have become used to getting whatever fruit we want, when we want it, not when it is growing in season locally. Just a thought, no scientific data to back it up.

Actually, with Avocados, if you grow the right varieties, you can pretty much have them year round. You just need room for 4 or 5 trees.

With most other fruits, you do have to wait for the season.
