I have a pair of 100# tanks (23gal)on an automatic switching regulator. One tank will last me about 6-7 months. I figure my gas is running about 13 bucks a month. I have an on demand gas hot water heater, gas range and dryer. I even plumbed my BBQ to the house line so I would never run out of gas on the BBQ again. ;-) If I had the money, I'd have a gas cook top and an electric oven. I don't like baking with gas the heat is too moist for a good crust on my french or Italian bread. My last electric bill (today) was 105 bucks. This is for one person. I'd love to have a nice solar array on the roof but the cost is way beyond my means....
BTW... If you get the gas range, don't go real cheap. That is, get one that has at least one BIG high BTU burner. I takes forever to bring a pot of water for pasta to a boil with the average large burner. Just my 2 cents worth.
