I was able to get this update regarding the right of way acquisition for the final east side Daniel K. Inouye Highway phase (between m.m 5.3 and m.m 11).
Saddle Road Improvements: East-Side Segment
As of June 23, new ownership has been identified on certain parcels. Appraisals on these parcels are being conducted as a result, with anticipated completion in late October. Title search updates continue on a few parcels and work continues on finalizing warranty deeds on others. We are also working with one other property owner and the County of Hawaii on a process that will allow it to proceed with its process and appraisal. In general, prior ownership and encumbrance issues have been addressed in a manner that allows HDOT to continue the process and remain on schedule to have all land matters cleared by next summer.
