Would that be 1/2 free if you are hapa? I love a bargain, or do we charge those who are all white twice as much? [Wink]

Wuzzerdad - I hope you realize my comment was tongue-in-cheek! I've told people a million times I hate exaggeration.

Yeah, I can think of a dozen reasons why that's not going to happen--but I'm not naming them all.

This is what I was "trolling" for when I started this thread, an outside of the box idea which could help the enviroment and create jobs. Incinerating garbage/trash and producing clean energy at the same time. Maybe powering a recycleing steel mill (electric blast furnace)so all the scrap metal currently sent to the landfills could be reused, Lava is from 700 C. to 1200 C. and would with no effort incinerate any waste with no chance of it ever becomming an enviromental hazzard, but I suppose there is a huge landfill being used that is filling up with all kinds of hazzards on the Big Island.

I'm not white. More of a pinky-peachy color.

Just noticed this: "but I suppose there is a huge landfill being used that is filling up with all kinds of hazzards on the Big Island."

Actually there are 2 active & more non-active landfills, and the Hilo land fill is near-over=capacity (capacity has been increased by increasing slope design....)

One of the old un-lined landfills in Kona has been been burning now for over 20years...so it isn't like burning the newer stuff in a controlled burn would be a whole lot different (except maybe the leachate might be different... but why worry about that? just neat a few wells...)

FOR ALL: I am NOT serious about the fact that burning waste in an uncontrolled manner should be pursued...but am serious that we do currently have an uncontrolled waste burn on island, and will have this burn for quite awhile (YEARS) longer... so burning waste is not a new concept to look at... only that the controlled part would be a new concept for this island....
