I agree, pog, I've yet to successfully read someone's license plate via the rear view mirror while being chased by them but will make sure I try and do that in the future.

Dayna - I think the more sensible and intelligent posters here know you and your daughter did everything right during a terrifying experience and we also thank you for letting us know about it. Don't let the trolls win and if you manage to find out who the screwball is who chased you, please let us know. Sometimes I think one or two people here are related to or are friends with the scumbags that get mentioned here and just like making life miserable for others hence some of the recent posts, especially in this thread. Or they're just crazy and the rest of us should just carry on.

just now reading all this......

strange thing(s) noticed... is the red jeep that followed seems to have had 2 people in it ??? 2 lolo kooks in same jeep chasing same kine jeep for no apparent reason.... and when he got out of his jeep and walked up to you when you stopped and was yelling... what did he say?? that may solve the problem right there...
I would have (at very beginning when you were across from gas station with many witnesses) yelled back for see whats up (he may have become pissed that you ignored him??, he may have been waiting there to ask ya for buy your soft top, or see if you have extra parts FWIW) but Im also a dude with a machete, axe, and other good kine bashin' instruments in my truck too.. so I do understand why you newbie Puna kine gals didnt stop.. but while your daughter was driving I would have turned around in your seat, taken a picture or 3 w/phone, or wrote down the plate ## ....preincident details like the drinking a beer across from gas station/older long gray hair (haole/local?) were good but you needed to collect more evidence as incident played out IMO)
plus even if you now can ID them I dont think they broke the law any more than you did fleeing them (traffic laws) unless you know FACT what he said to be terroristic threats ??
Im going to now look closely at any 20 yr old red jeeps (maybe you/maybe them?)... there really arnt too many of them here (most are brand new Kona side rentals w/pale timid mainland haoles drivin 'em)

bottom line, at least no one got hurt...

(PS. Im 100%haole born n raised in HI and love it, so no play race BS w/me K, aloha)

save our indigenous and endemic Hawaiian Plants... learn about them, grow them, and plant them on your property, ....instead of all that invasive non-native garbage I see in most yards... aloha

Well. I have certainly made an ass out of myself here.

After reading pogs post which wasn't even directed at me I understand a little better how dayna must have been feeling.

Sorry dayna if anything I've said upset you, I didn't mean to be insensitive I guess I just didnt really see it from a woman's perspective until reading the interchange between Frank & Pog.

I can see how this was terrifying, and once again I apologize of I upset you. I will keep an eye out for this creep in orchid land.

And by the way dayna, all cell phones now come with a feature called E911 it basically means you can be tracked by GPS so if you make am emergency call they can know where the call was made from.

I hope you never have to experience this again, and follow your own advice and good sense and keep on driving if it happens to you again not what I would do.

dayna...no insensitivity here...as i posted earlier in this thread, very scary situation you and your baby girl were in and i wish it on no one...glad your ok

tomk, if you are being chased and someone else is in the car with you, ask that person to get the lic. # would not try the backward reading thing

pog...you got the tone wrong...merely trying to point out the importance of getting a licence # in this or for that matter any car incident.
