Kea'au Youth Business Center needs your help!
#1
A friend of mine is on the Board of KYBC, here's her message and plea for help, in keeping this wonderful program going. Go to the link if you can help with fundraising ideas or donate via Paypal for this program to remain in our community, so it can continue to inspire our youth to become selfless, productive, and serving citizens.

Aloha Kakou friends here in Hawaii and beyond. I am on the Board of KYBC, a fabulous Hawaii Island non-profit organization which provides training and mentorship to youth in the areas of music production, culinary arts and video production.

I just learned that the org. is currently in a big financial crunch as one of our major grants ended in December and one we were counting on did not come through.

If you have any FUNDRAISING ideas or can donate anything to the $3,600/month rent, please let us know!!!

To learn more about the work we do and to donate go to: http://kybc808.com/CMS/programs-offered.html and click on the right hand "donate now" PayPal button.

Mahalo in advance for any ideas or monetary contribution you're able to give. ALOHA Pumehana! Dewi Maile Lim

....just bumping this to the top, since it seems the thread inquiring as to new-developments at the failed-KFC (..and wishing these hard-working teachers and kids well in their new venture in Pahoa!) seems to have been purged.

Sooo...
Once again....
"Good luck, good people!"
"All the best!"

There was so much support in the other thread for the KYBC, if all those people who spoke up would donate to KYBC voluntarily like I did, we could make a real difference! Looks like their supply of non-voluntary sourced federal and state money is drying up. It would be much better if the local community would step up to support organizations like this that they care about, rather then forcing them to depend on money taken from people by force.
Lets start our own community donation push right here in this thread.
I don't have much money, but was happy to donate $5 yesterday to support KYBC and a less violent world. Remember you can specify "Cafe" if you would like the money to go to that and your donation is tax deductible. Help the KYBC and give them money voluntarily today! Support local businesses and education in Puna.
Here is my donation, feel free to post yours to encourage others.

Okay.
Good idea.
You're on, afwjam.

Personally, I don't mind supporting/investing via taxes, donation, or buying whatever scrumptious concoctions they cook up, once they're set up. I'm sure there are others who'll step up as well.
