Cymbidium Acres....
#1
Anyone familiar with this subdivision? I have been to Volcano several times, and love the area and climate (not too hot)! However, I had never wandered back to this area. I am looking at a house in Cymbidium Acres, and it appears to be very nice. However many times I have seen a really nice house that someone built in a less than stellar subdivision. Just wanted to make sure that for the most part, Cymbidium would be what most would consider (other than those that don't like the cool weather) a really nice sub division.
Your input would be appreciated.

That area off Wright road is beautiful physically, there is raw unaltered native hawaiian rainforest up there and plenty of beautiful properties. One of the more unique features of the area is the pristine hapu'u or giant tree fern forest still intact and thriving. Far down Wright road off A'mau'mau street is a research station for the Hawaii volcanoes national park. Overall the area is very ecologically pleasing and diverse. A unique and special remnant of the flora and fauna once dominant in ancient Hawai'i.

However, like nearly all neighborhoods on the Big Island it has its mix of virtual mansion/estates and rundown wrecks / shacks. It's really hit or miss, but I find generally the rule of thumb for Wright road is the area is very nice. The majority of the properties are tastefully manicured and beautifully constructed.

I plan on trying to purchase one of the 20 acre properties up there eventually if my plans for the future pan out appropriately.
