Building Costs

HPM does supply materials for post and pier foundations (just not poured concrete). You can also purchase prefabricated wall panels with or without 1/2" plywood attached if you are adding cement siding for instance. This is a good option if you are in a hurry or worried about theft of materials. The kit homes are available this way, but you can also get an estimate on custom homes and structures.

Yes, maybe $1,000,000-2,000,000 per sq ft here so you don't want to come maybe. Very expensive and food is too pricey so stay where you are.

I was estimating my cost on HPM kits to be about three times the kit price. If the kit was 80k, I figured all in would be 240k (assuming no fancy stuff and not including the lot price).

YEs, the 30k kit I was looking at, would have cost about 90k -but that did not include the cost of my lot. I think that's about right. I think a large yurt would cost about 60k when all was said and done.

Why a "kit"...why not go to lumber place, buy lumber and build? Read a few books, very easy.
