I'm not from the BBC but I'm glad to see you've turned to more reputable news sources.
I'm sorry you were wrong about Fukushima being a disaster for Hawaii.

PaulW has a strong aversion to unpleasant facts. I don't blame him, but its not all hunky dory in the world and people know this.

SBH, I am curious. What does your concern lead you to recommend to we Punatics?

When I come back home in a couple months (working overseas) I fully intend to bring my Geiger counter.

Probably a wise move Aaron, how much does one of those run? I just purchased my first VHF radio(Facebook of the arctic) and I might need a geiger counter.

Well Rob it has been my recommendation since the 70's that we move toward alternative energy sources rather than nuclear and fossil fuels. I received my BS Degree in Alternative Energy in 1984 and live off-grid here in Puna.
Why this emergency has been ignored for so long by the international community is unbelievable. Now they are desperate for help and the world needs to step in and solve this problem before this becomes an even bigger disaster.
