Pam Lamont

Visiting this site after a long absence.... sorry to hear about Pam. She was a most gracious and kind person and never hesitated to help others. I'm sorry that I did not make it up to the ranch more.

Aloha Pam...

As I read through these, again unbelieving, I am amazed at how Pam has brought us together once again.

Old members that havent been heard from in awhile and new people that just came here.

Never met Pam, but from reading her posts she is obviously a caring, and giving woman. My prayers for her and her family. Aloha Pam

Aloha and namaste, Pam! We loved reading your musings on life in Hawaii. And we loved your signature line! So sad we were not able to meet you - you were a wonderful voice of Punaweb. You will be missed, for sure, but your spirit will still be with us. Our best to her family and friends.

Never met Pam,
but have certainly admired her spunk.

Never once in all the time I've read here at Punaweb
was Pam anything less than gracious, generous, calm,
kind, and astute.... she had an uncanny way of making
even the weirdest among us gentle-down and think --
re-order priorities. A very real "presence"... even in this
ever-so-slightly unreal world.

Best wishes to her family at this very-tough time.

For Pam - it is how We remember her and how We remember how she lived:

"Desiderata"
"Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even the dull and ignorant; they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.

Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs; for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals;
and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself.
Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be critical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.

You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be,
and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy.

Oh Bonnie&Joey that is just beautiful! It is hard to type as it is hard to see the keyboard. I miss her already. I went to the dr. today & need an interpreter! In that great photo of Mella & Pam (think I was Pammie when the 3 of us were together) we were hanging out at the ranch and Royal took the photo. I believe we made bread that day and laughed 'till we cried! Not sure the time of year but it felt like a gorgeous summer day, that or we were all having hotflashes.
This past winter she made it clear that she wanted people to laugh and not think of her sick but rather concentrate on the positives. I for one am truly indebted to her for helping me maintain my sanity during 40 days of rain! It didn't seem to detour her; instead she built a ranch!! And the most expensive driveway in Puna.
