Drifting a little off base ..... but while on the topic "of the internet"
when doing basic research the choice of search engine important - google for example tracks the individual user - adjusts the returns to fit their political viewpoint
compare your google and lets say a duck duck search
its called a "filter bubble"

I did not know that. So a person who believes the "government" is out to get him will be fed stuff that confirms his world view? Kind of disturbing. Definitely an Obama plot to control our health care and give the boomers all the money.

I apologize if this has already been posted, but here is an example of how the government chooses not to release information about radiation.
During the Nevada atomic tests in the 1950's, the NCI recommended a ban on milk products in the US. It was not implemented because the committee determined that panic from telling citizens their "wholesome" milk supply was contaminated would cause more harm than good:
"But in 1962, the radiation council (whose members included the chairman of the AEC and the Secretary of Defense) made the remarkable determination that the radiation guidelines should not be applied to fallout without further detailed study... The council also concluded that preventive measures, presumably such as diverting milk, may actually "have a net adverse rather than favorable effect on the public well-being." http://www.ieer.org/latest/iodnart.html
Milk was the main method of transferring radiation to the general population, and our government knew it, but chose not to tell us:
"Information on the importance of the food chain for
radiation exposures has been known for a long time. Government
health physicists have known of the importance of the food
pathway as a source of exposure since 1946."
Much more about this in the transcript of a congressional hearing in 1998, which includes personal stories of nuclear exposure and it's effect on our US Senators giving testimony:

This is what it looked like to the citizens on the ground in St. George Utah. Note the alarming way the AEC and government reacted to the news of contamination and fall fall out back then - and the eventual result on health .....
see any similarities to how the Fukashima meltdown is being handled.... What is the AEC telling Hawaii residents today - you bet I dont trust em any further than I could toss 'em.....
St George real estate booming today - go figure
