Lots of policemen chatting with unhappy motorists just south of the Keaau school.

It should be 55, but then I think most speed limits are too low

It's posted as 45 but just before the transfer station headed Hilo way it says reduced speed, 45. So reduced from 45 to 45? \ From Shower to Maku'u it's dangerous and residential and I'm glad it's now 45.

Not really -- County needs to rezone all that property RS, then drop the speed limit to 35.

Get ready for Phase II of the shoulder widening project, paving starting up next week. This could mean more big traffic jams again for awhile.

There appears to be some shoulder widening already in progress.
All I can find is this 2011 KPAG "Elements of the Preferred Alternative", which says
Eight Bus Pullouts at:
· Shower/Pohaku Drives
· Kaloli Drive
· Pohaku Circle
· Orchidland Drive
· Paradise Drive
· Makuu Drive
· Ainaloa Boulevard
· Makuu Farmer's Market
Signals at five intersections:
·Shower/Pohaku Drives
(signal already committed in Shoulder Improvements project)
·Kaloli Drive
·Orchidland Drive
·Makuu Drive
·Pahoa Kapoho Road (signal already in place)
Roundabouts are proposed for the first phases of construction at:
·Ainaloa Boulevard
·Old Pahoa Road
·Kahakai Boulevard
This map clearly shows "Phases" but no "dates":

Phase II is the installation of a traffic light at Shower intersection. No start date set.
