Hi. I've been on dial-up for eight years with no other options available. Hawaiian Telcom is our current ISP. They will stop that service at the end of the year. I'm looking for another dial-up ISP that will not have many busy signals or dropped sessions. HI Telcom has been slow but steady. Any recommendations from people who are happy with their dail-up ISP service? Thanks.

I used Netzero for years and I would still use them today.I have Hughesnet now !

I still keep my Earthlink dial-up for the webmail, & in case I go to the mainland where I wouldn't know for sure what was available in that particular area. Earthlink is good just about everywhere in the U.S. Rarely would I not be able to log on, or get dropped.

Continue to check Aloha Broadband in your area. They keep expanding and I found they have fast reliable internet but not dial-up.

Thanks all for the feedback. I used to use Earthlink, but had problems and switched. Netzero sounds good and has three Hilo numbers. I wanted to make sure they are reliable.

I never had problems with Netzero, but I'm glad those days (of dial-up) are over for me!

I guess I'll give Aloha Broadband a call to see if they have anything new for me. If not, I'll go with Netzero. Thanks for the feedback.

Steve - I used
www.flex.com (FlexNet) for many years. Very reliable and pretty cheap - $10 a month. Technical help is limited but available - if you know what you are doing they may be an option.

Second for flex net. My long time friend started it. It's based in Honolulu but might as well go local.
Flexnet is very fast for hawaii. I'd use them again if it was my only option.

WOW... I haven't even heard the words "dial up" for years. (and I live at the corner of No and Where in the middle of Illinois.) That is one thing I am taking into consideration in my house hunt. I know there is decent wireless internet in lower HPP but is there anything in upper HPP?? Orchidland? Where is the place(s) to NOT buy because hi speed will never be there?
