my father shipped a load of cedar and built the family home in the late 70s. none of the cedar has yet to see a termite. termites did make it into wherever he used non cedar. some of the treated beams were the old kine copper treated and they are also fine.. of course the home is up hill and the termites didnt seem to make it up the hill for many years of that time. we also buy boric acid (100%) and use it all the time. on the new house for example, every vertical piece was sprinkled all over before i put up the sheet rock. I also have it in all my cuboards, and underneath them before they were installed. never had cockroaches either this way. i probably used a good 25 pounds in building the house but it is worth it., as inside the walls it will last forever.
