Cook Pine logs with brown centers (Pahoa)
#1
My Cook Pine and Norfolk pine were cut down this morning to prepare for solar panel installation. There are some very nice large logs, some with interesting brown centers. A couple are 15" or more in diameter.

If you are a wood worker these are in great shape.

All I ask in exchange is help putting back up a small section of fence that the trees took out in the cutting process.

Those logs can be valuable. Nice furniture wood. I took some down years ago and milled them into lumber. I also traded some short sections to a bowl turner who later gave me a very nice large turned bowl.
Assume the best and ask questions.

Hi Rob,

Yeah, I left a message with the head of the local wood turner assoc. The wood is very beautiful and hopefully can be recycled into something useful. The Cook Pine is the one with the interesting brown core. The Norfolk has tiger/curly type graining. Maybe I can get a bowl out of this too!

You could have $1,000 worth of lumber there.
