Rooster farms in HPP mapped. HEY Sputnut!

I remember that video. Wow, that was more than four years ago!

I just looked at that and wonder how it all worked out. I sorta see why the guy that really manicured his place is not happy about galvanized roofing being his new fence. It looks like there was already a hogwire fence there and they used it to be the support for the roofing. Might have been a little less of a kneedrop on his privates to have put it on their own side. He looks like a worker so I can figure but do not know for sure that he was the one who drilled holes and set fencepost and stretched the hogwire. hmmm.

We were forced to put roofing along our fence line, in addition to the chain link and field fencing we had, because the tenants of the rental next door were running a puppy mill and entire herds of little yap dogs would come under and through the fence and rush our then quite young dogs. Our dogs were just trying to defend their property and themselves from as many as 15 aggressive little yappers at once and then the neighbors threatened to call animal control on our dogs. So the only way to keep their dogs out of our yard that we could afford was to recycle roofing and put it all along the fence. Do I like how it looks, no, but we had no choice under the circumstances. The landlord keeps their yard manicured too, but has terrible taste in tenants.

So don't assume you know anything like the whole story based on a 7 minute you-tube video. It seems like there was plenty of bad attitude going around on all sides; what kind of guy doesn't help his wife when she is lying on the ground in pain, just so he can get a video?

So are hunting dogs...

Just don't drag em over to my side of your lot or else I'll time it whenever your not home and they bark for more then half an hour straight I call the cops...

Hope you got plenty of Cash! And when I they say you want an officer to show up at your door? I say Heck Yeah... I want the entire hood to know I am complaining with the blue light on in MY DRIVEWAY...

The renters finally got a clue and got shock collars for their dogs or something cause now they don't make any noise. Maybe they got rid of the dogs that bark all the time. But whatever... We have a No Bark laws here on this island and the cops around here love to write out tickets for em. Keep on Barking cause I'll keep on calling.

That was exactly what I thought when I first saw it. I guess it was much more important to document it on video than help her up. I wont draw any conclusions whos right or wrong. But there is more than one video on that channel. It seems it all started with the surveyors clearing the property line and numerous 911 calls, mutual restraining orders and a death spiral to this behavior.

I suppose the point I was attempting to make was that a lot of people buy property with one set of imagined ideals in mind and after moving discover that its not that way, they then try to change things to meet their per-conceived mindset. Sometimes forcing change on those unwilling to accept it.

Being that HPP has not adopted an anti rooster ccr - maybe the majority in the development consider it no great shakes....

we are not in kansas any more gang.....

I don't think it is a measure of pro or anti rooster farm sentiment that HPP hasn't adopted anti rooster CC&Rs, as much as the fact that under our by-laws it would be virtually impossible to get ANY CC&Rs passed. There just isn't a simple legal mechanism to do so, and the original developers of HPP, like most Puna subdivisions, didn't ever actually plan for real people to live here. They thought they would just sell lots to off island people who wanted to own a piece of the fantasy of paradise and would never actually live here. I saw a sales brochure for Hawaiian Acres one time that had a riding stable, golf course and club house complex, and palm trees everywhere. It looked nothing like HA has ever, or ever will, look.

We knew the guy who sold HOVE property to the tourists.....

Might be HPP was a "virtual neighborhood" also. True about HPP CCR's, just not going to happen without legal change.

Dogs , roosters are legal on ag land. There is legal county remedy against incessant dog barking....... none that I am aware of for roosters or their cockle doodle doing!

I guess I just don't understand.

1. Why would you buy AG land if you don't want to be next to legal AG land uses?

2. If you do buy AG land why would someone doing legal AG use ruin your life?

Don't like legal AG use, don't buy AG land.

I'm not sure if it can be any simpler than that?

I'm guess maybe I'm confused. If I bought a condo in a commercial area near a nightclub, I would ASSUME I would hear nightclub music, etc and that a commercial operation could open up right where my condo/apartment is located.... So if you purchase in an AG area you should just go ahead and assume a pig farm or rooster farm or horse farm or dog farm would build next to/near you.

I'm not even sure why this is an argument or discussion.

AG land = AG use
Commercial land = commercial use
Residential land = residential use
Industrial land = industrial use
blah blah blah
