They were circling our house in lower HPP..so my wife and I both went out into our yard and waved at them.

Now all of us on Maku'u know who to thank! I'm in Hilo but my husband emailed me that they have been all over our street today. Our house is built up high, and sits on the highest point of the lot. At times in the past they have been level with my lanai, and right over the neighbors' houses..

Who can I call to complain? The FAA? I have endangered species on my property. Forget how annoying it was, but I'm surprised some parrots didn't die from fright.

Someone needs to get the FAA involved on a less local level...rumor has it the FAA's section chief (or whatever current title is) also owns/ operates his own helicopter...

Dayna, IF you have very good pictures, you could send an email to the Hawaii airports FAA compliance guy in Honolulu, Henry Bruckner(gotta say,, so far nothing has changed, but maybe if EVERYONE sends high quality photos to him, something may... his email is:

Henry & Linda are small aircraft owners, and I happen to have all of the FAA info on their AVIONS MUDRY ET CIE CAP 10B 2 seater (it really is amazing all of what you CAN get on-line, but still the helicopters go right over the Keaau schools!) Maybe sending the complaints to HIS address may change things...I dunno, am almost ready to put the listed address up here..

ADDED: Was at a dinner last week & saw a great mosaic table with round mirrors...got me to thinking, what if you used those magnifying mirrors & placed the tables around your property, would that keep them from flying over...odd what too many helicopters does to your thinking!

I'll say it again: everyone chip in for a charter helicopter flight that circles over the homes of the FAA officials and GH pilots. I strongly suspect they have no idea what it sounds like from below.
