Kahauale'a II flow moving toward Pahoa again.

The last few weeks have seen the lava break East again after pooling with little advance for about a month before that.

Based on the topography it seems determined to keep a generally easterly course, although old flows that have come through that direction have also gone somewhat northeast. I'd anticipate that if this flow continues long enough to make it to inhabited areas, there's a small chance of it getting into the back of HA, a slightly better chance of Ainaloa and more likely somewhere South of there. Here's hoping Pu'u'o'o unclogs the south lava tube so it avoids people's houses completely and gives the lava tour business those much loved ocean entries.

So the red is the most recent/current lava flow? Looks lime it's, what, 4-5 miles from Pahoa?

It's a good article, but it's from last summer. Things have changed since then. The lava has moved a mile or more toward Pahoa.

It's not as close as the Thanksgiving eve breakout was, not anything special to worry about

How would the county "ban the flow"?

Ordinance applied on the South East side of the cone?

You simply use contrails above, liberal applications of Roundup and barricades made of GMO papayas --that will halt the flow in its tracks.

What happens if the lava crosses 130 between Pahoa and Hawaiian acres and just meanders around there? Does the County have a reconnection plan in place?
