Let's keep our kids uneducated and stupid about sex!

Seems like such a smart thing to do!

My son took this class for the last 2 yrs as part of the regular curriculum at Hilo Inter. I thought it was really good. Much more in-depth than other sex-ed classes I had heard of. It also has lots of drug and meth info. My son commented that there was "much less homophobia here than in Texas where we moved from". He also commented that "this is a very tolerant place" , and "live an let live" etc. I am happy with all of it really. I try and shield my kids, but it's mostly futile. I'd rather have them learn about stuff in a well organized, comprehensive program...

A checkbook?? A teenage pregnancy can arguably be the most expensive move these kids will ever make...

What is your point Frank? It would appear that you do not approve of a sex education budget. I get that. Why? All you are doing is alluding to some unclear point.
Assume the best and ask questions.

Rob, my point is,,,if McDermott is correct, and i stress correct, in his assertions in the article referenced in the op, I'm of the opinion money of the sort, $800,000 for 1700 students, could be better spent by the doe...with the prevalence and ease of access (by anyone) of porn on the net, i ask you, how much more is there to learn on the subject?

Really Frank? Is that where you got yours?

Expecting teenagers to learn about sex from the internet, is like holding a class on job skills in a casino. It certainly is possible to earn money in Vegas, but it's probably not the best choice in the long run.
