I cant recall who mentioned this book, but I wanted to thank you. The book is so well written and entertaining, and though I dont share the writers same view point and blind dream of Puna, I enjoyed it. So mahalos for the suggestion !

I downloaded the book but haven't read it yet. The reviews are great so I'm looking forward to reading it.

The title of the thread matches the title of the book. Check it out: http://www.amazon.com/HomoSteading-19th-Parallel-adventures-nightmare-ebook/dp/B00705F4EA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1394420784&sr=8-1&keywords=homosteading

AHH HAA! the book description still left me bewildered. Then I saw it is in the gay/lesbian section and it makes sense, sorry, just didn't get it at first.

There are two good books by Lynne Farr about carving out a homestead in Puna ... Off the Grid and Over the Hill and Off the Grid Without a Paddle. Both available on Amazon, for Kindle.

I am so much more like I am today than I ever was before!
I don't know how I got over the hill without getting to the top.

The guy who wrote the book is a homo, thus the title. A bit of a diva, its about his nightmare (to him) experience building a home in Seaview. What i enjoyed was the story and the group of characters he meets in Puna. I did not enjoy reading about him cupping mens balls. Even with the gay sex, the book was well written and funny, and worth a read.

Entertaining and well worth the $3.03 kindle download. I could empathize with the construction aspect of the story having gone through related experiences a few years back on the mainland. Definitely enjoyed the "cast" of characters.

Just bought it on Amazon. I look forward to reading it. As a Homosteader myself, I am curious to read about his experience. Smile
