Buying it here in Hawaii isn't an option, the price is crazy!
In general, has anyone found a way to get cheap shipping to Hawaii?

Not about shipping but if you buy a Variable speed pool pump there is a energy rebate available of about $150, just FYI.

Thanks Kat.
I signed up for Prime and tried to order the pump but now it says it won't send it to my address.
I contacted Amazon and their response was (literally)
"Hawaii is not within US."

Hello hikatz,
It's:
Pentair 145322 Sand Dollar Top-Mount Pool Filter, SD 60 2.3-Square-Feet Filtration Area, 60-GPM Flow
Please don't go to too much trouble. Amazon has said that they will try to fix it. As I pointed out to them, everything marked as Prime should ship for free within the US. They agreed with this, they only disagreed with whether Hawaii was in the US!

Hawaii is only considered part of the Prime deal until you order something too heavy or too awkwardly shaped...

It's my understanding that if it is marked as Prime then you get free shipping anywhere in the 50 states.

YOu have to only buy the stuff marked "prime". It does limit the choices a bit, but for me- with the kids- it's well worth it.

If it's marked "free shipping" you get free shipping whether or not it's Prime.
There may be a DOT restriction for items that "cannot travel by air".
This apparently includes the socks I want, for reasons nobody can explain.

I think it was on Punaweb that someone said they ordered tires w/ free shipping to Hawaii from Amazon (not prime). I just got mine, $136 for 2 tires which is what Lex Brodie wanted for ONE. Curley's installs for $20 tire. Such a deal!!

Try poolstoreoutlet.com selling for 242.54 plus 85.00 for shipping to 96778. Seems to be the cheapest and they ship to Hawaii. Amazon won't ship certain items to Hawaii, and sears does sell it, shipping only $55.00 but their price is 480.00 wow such a large difference between stores.

Thank you very much bobby49, I will definitely go with that option if Amazon doesn't come through.
They have it listed for $232 with free shipping (under Prime) but strangely say that somehow doesn't apply to Hawaii.
I am fighting this, they said they will escalate it.
Have other Prime users had this problem?
