How hard can it be to say "No, thank you"? Handing out leaflets has already been found to be constitutional, so I expect this to be ruled unconstitutional.

Another $100,000 settlement is on the horizon. Someone needs to be fired over this. Sounds like another Luoluo Hong debacle.

Obob - Dude, let me put down the community Hookah a moment. Man, they are about to charge a whole $1 for parking at the Maku'u Farmers Market. This is Puna (land of the 21st century commune communities) and your post is about some stupid 227 year old hemp document structuring a society based on freedoms that allow farmers markets and the right to charge a buck for parking! You can't roll the damn thing or smoke it... so what's your point in posting that terrorist backed story in here?

Oh, almost forgot, just a short off topic question - what water is best in the Hookah, rain water or da community chlorinated well water?

There is something more to this story than either the plaintiffs or UHH is saying. The plaintiffs were handing out their info & copies of the constitution at a UHH event. They had a table where they could provide this info & talk to people, along side other students who also had printed materials. They insisted on leaving this area, even when requested not to.
Does anyone know if there is more to this story, other than they were not capable of following some simple rules at the event?

Maybe the William S. Richardson School of Law needed a field trip project?

"They had a table where they could provide this info & talk to people, along side other students who also had printed materials." Yeah, yeah that's it, sort of like a "first amendment zone"?

More like an information zone. I don't believe any of the other groups who handed out literature from their tables are joining in the suit, although their freedom was equally infringed upon. Or not, because they didn't seem to see that a problem existed. I doubt the constitution was the real issue, as most students could pull up a copy on their smart phone, iPad, or laptop in 10 seconds flat. It's a university after all.

This is the plantiffs complaint for injunctive and declaratory relief and damages.

#18 in their complaint states the only table left when they arrived was at the far end away from foot traffic.

Maybe they should take there cue from Paul Revere & George Washington and get up a little earlier in the morning if they want a constitution. Paul Revere didn't sleep in and announce the next day, "the British have come & gone! The British have come & gone!"

Actually, Paul Revere rode mostly at night.
