$11.6M (with cost overruns), formally opened by Kenoi just a week before leaving office, and ... already "down for repairs, until further notice".

What a fitting legacy for our former Mayor! I hope nothing happens to the golf course...

And this is a surprise because . . . ? Apparently nobody checked out the water supply before they switched from composting to water flush toilets.

Yep, stopped there yesterday. All restrooms locked up. Playground is still open though.

In the rush to award a few $M worth of contracts, nobody checked the real requirements.

I wonder how much the retrofit will cost?

Why am I NOT surprised?
Just shut up and pay your taxes, sucker.
At least it's not as big as the now 10 billion or more disaster in Honolulu (HART).
The "Protectors" should have shut HART down for desecrating graves instead of messing with TMT.

If flustered people "make their own restroom stops" as Joe says, isn't that more environmentally correct?

All the tourist mini-buses and vans stop there. They aren't going to let their customers destroy them on Tripadvisor for causing bladder infections. If it goes on too long somebody will haul in some porta Johns.

Maybe Mayor Kim should look into fog catchers to replenish water supply-

That's too bad. Hope they get it fixed. It's like the perfect place to stop en route to Kona side from Hilo. I've only stopped there once and we thought it was pretty nice.
