new connectivity routes in Puna
#21
It's a private road, so only people living in Orchidland would be able to use it, right?

Good one -- perhaps more accurate to say "only people living in Orchidland will be inconvenienced by the lack of pavement" -- all others would be trespassing.

The police directed all of us going to Hilo to take that road,
Or go back to Ainaloa.
If we were trespassing, there was a lot of us.
What road is not a private road?

I picked up a hitchhiker in Kalapana who mentioned that one can hike from Seaview to 130. Has anyone done that? Is the start of that route along the Power Line access at the top of Seaview? Any particular geological features to look for?

Like everybody else I a) want improvements. b) not next to my house!! I am in much the same position as carol. The new routes connect fern to hawaiian at the top, but then detour down to F and along to 8. I (of course) think the route should go down G. Fortunately, at the rate and efficiency that these things run at here, it is unlikely to happen in my lifetime Smile

Crazy idea: reduce overall traffic flow with high-speed internet and a local corner store...
