RJ,
This is not your page, you do not fund it, host it, or moderate it. It is one thread on a forum that Rob hosts as a public service to all of Puna, not your personal sand box, you just happen to be the subject of this thread since you chose to run for public office.

RJ/Sativa continually confuse quantity of words with quality. Accuracy - not even on the table.

Sometimes you have to have quantity of words to provide accuracy and quality. Ms. Hampton's post on fracking is a very complex subject and the way she explained it required a rather lengthy explanation. What you should be seeing in this dissertation is her ability to research a subject, get all the important facts, state the problem in a manor that it is understood, and take a position. This character treat is exactly what is needed to be a good Council person and this is a quality that Ms. Hampton has. If she applies this same thought process with all the Council business, which she would, then District 5 would be well represented by someone who thinks, researches and makes quality decisions that will serve the district well.

You should know, you are the only one that has posted to PCDP in many, many moons. The irony is sublime.

It should be a prerequisite. Why keep reinventing the wheel? If the problem has been resolved by others, then why not cut and paste their solutions with any local modifications added in. Present and passed Council members have wasted to much time trying to do things their own way instead of following the example of other jurisdictions. Cut and pasting saves time and energy. Glad that RJ can have YOUR vote.

Exactly! Why utilize original thought when you can keep doing the same thing over again.

I don't quite understand your thought process. It takes original thinking to find a solution elsewhere and then modify it for local needs. This is not doing the same thing over again, but is a methodology to make positive change in an efficient way.

The thing is.. as with learning to read.. there's a measurable difference between reading and comprehending what you read. And though Ms. Hampton certainly can do the reading.. i.e. cut 'n paste.. there's a general feeling she hasn't got the comprehending part down just yet. The part about digesting what she learns and being able to then communicate it to others.. which agreeably is hard for most.. is something she might consider hiring a professional to do for her.
