Aloha, All:
Hopefully, Rob will allow this hyperlink to the Air & Space Museum:

As it's quite a journey to D.C., you can do a virtual tour via the web-site.
Enjoy!

Great web site. I noticed that most of the images were also available in very high resolution, in case you wanted to print or tinker with them. The travel posters were especially cool.

Interesting...
1933 you could get a round trip to Hilo from Honolulu for 45 bucks! Good for 30 days.

With inflation that 45 dollars is 800 dollars today.

With modern aircraft = a lot safer, a lot faster and a lot more fuel efficient. So that being said, it's only 170-200 today. Not bad!

Kind of disappointed they didn't mention my old Airline,Western.I worked as a mechanic at HNL from 1973 to 1976.Even flew into ITO a couple of times to do station inspections.Western was the number 2 carrier to Hawaii during that time period.
We flew from many smaller cities.
I have a large collection of Western/Hawaii travel posters.

Remember them well. "The only way to fly"! Serviced jetways at SFO with my uncle for a while, Pops worked for United, but higher up on the food chain. Small world. Boy I miss the employee perks!

Obie, maybe you should contact them and see if they are interested in some of your stuff. Heck even if you don't scan them in for the rest of us to have a look!
Cheers!

I love this thread! Mahalo. Thank you, Todd.
I vividly recall Western Airlines! Damn, we're getting old. Check out this list on Ebay for all the Western stuff:

We used to love flying Western, and the service was always fantastic. (Sorry, off topic, again.[:I]) My Tutu had a set of silverware from Western, and it's right here in my hale. (For the record, she didn't steal it, the stewardess gave them to her...lol.)[
] OMG, thanks for the memories, you guys. Enjoy the day!
