I'm kinda happy, but, agree, a certain financial level is really important. I'd be really happy just to have $50K a year in my Puna life. Just having pets makes me happy, but really eats up the funds. I believe attitude is important. I don't need a fancy car, just a dependable one. Etc. I really like having friends, that makes me happy, and doesn't cost much. There are a lot of issues in the subject of happiness. Now that I am having so many health problems, I have to think good health is a part of happiness. I'd love to be able afford a couple hours a week of yard maintenance. That would make me really happy.

Peace and long life

I'm happy in life making forty grand less then that amount, but I guess I'd be jumping for joy making that amount a year. Oh well life could be worse.

Eagle if I could make 40k less than the 122 k I would be making 40+ k more than I am now. I don't think there's many people happier than I am Smile I mean really I live in Hawaii and got a good job my first day here. 25 days in I'm still grinning. I know lots of people and the happiest one's have a strong sense of purpose and show great generosity, those two traits seem to make the happiest people IMO. More or less regardless of income or wealth.

True, what I was getting at is that article is not totally true, I don't earn a hundred twenty two grand a year and I'm happy.

Here are a bunch of people who seem pretty "happy" and I doubt very many, if any, make 120k!

We all know that was for New Babylon Honolulu. We also all know that Puna needs only 1/10th that much (which by coincidence, is the Puna median income), around $12,200 per year, to be happy.

After all, look at PW, nobody ever complains and they are totally happy with everything. Kind of drunk-slap-happy but not a single care or concern. Seems like levels of happiness need to be categorized, like drunk happy, stoned happy, punched happy, crazy happy, lots of different happiness levels.
