Election result printouts

10 PM printout 50K more votes - 3 precincts left + 2 Puna.

Schatz is now 1% ahead.

They're saying Puna districts in question have no power and don't even know they may decide the Senate race. I guess they don't think Puna can get online without HELCO.
[:p]

Dist 4 and 5 Council numbers look the same. I wonder if those are precincts not in yet.

Midnight, the Hawaii.gov link won't load for me.

Oops, I saw two Big Island precincts missing and assumed they were the ones that were closed, but it looks like they're in District 6. Maybe they just had some glitches that required extending voting hours.

Try the link again, I think it's slow with a lot of people accessing it; it just worked for me. It says 3 of 3 precincts are in for D5 and 2 of 2 for D4 (they were among the first reported; presumably this is not counting the two that aren't voting today), so I think this is pretty much it.

The last 3 precincts (not counting the 2) were 2 in Puna and 1 in West Kaua'i. There should be an 11 PM printout now.

Here is the final for State Rep District 2.

HI State Representative, Dist 4 D
100% OF PRECINCTS REPORTING
Joy A. SANBUENAVENTURA 481 41%

Leilani BRONSON-CRELLY 165 14%
Brian F. JORDAN 161 14%
Julia K. PELEIHOLANI 144 12%

lots of missing votes, only a bit over 1000 were counted?

Final Council District 4
HI Councilmember, Dist 4

Greggor ILAGAN 273 39%
Roy J. LOZANO 193 27%
Emily I. NAEOLE 138 20%

But look at how few votes. Two precincts not counted at all, so what is left, Pahoa was counted and 4 -03 (which is where?) ...

Look at the vote totals for West Hawai'i seats, so many more voted

Looks like about 2900 votes in D5, while the West Hawaii districts averaged around 3200 or so. Not a huge difference, especially compared to the two Hilo districts that had over 5000 votes each.

The two that didn't vote are in D4, so it's not surprising that it's low. OTOH, looking at the first printout (absentee and early votes only), D4 already had much lower turnout than any of the other districts (313, vs. 1205 in D5 and over 1300 in most of the others). In fact, even with the two missing D4 walk-in precinct votes not conducted, the ratio of absentee/early to total votes is actually slightly lower in 4 than 5 (38% vs. 42%). So it may not be just a function of the missing precincts and the storm depressing turnout.

My district had 3300 or so votes, and I thought I counted 5K in one WH race.

I don't doubt you're right about turnout, but note that the HPP + Beaches + Shores was not reported tonight from any source -- not early voting or absentee, plus no one who planned to vote today was able. Whatever votes are shown counted are from other Dist. 4 precincts entirely.

Oh right; I remember seeing something that the absentee votes weren't going to be counted from there.

There were two "Pahoa" precincts -- 04-03 at Pahoa Neighborhood Center (Council District 5) and 04-04 at Pahoa School (Council District 4).

04-01 is HPP - the largest precinct in House D-4 and in Council D-4
04-02 is in Keonepoko.

Final final for House D-4 and Council D-4 will await the HPP results.
