Latest Helco update. 1500 customers restored yesterday, but they got more reports of customers without power so still at 6600. The tripling of crews brought the number of workers up to 200, which I guess means there were 70 for the first 4 days. 40 more workers on the way. They also spelled it out that the reason some areas haven't seen crews is that problems before those areas have to be fixed first before it makes any sense to send crews to those neighborhoods. http://www.hawaiielectriclight.com/helco...rchannel=1

Power is flowing in Beaches, down past K street.... Hopefully they will get past M streets by today. Seems Kahakai is really busy these past two days.

Edit: Power is restored to Beaches Water, So... Looks like water won't be turned off due to them not having adequate backup generation... IE.. poor planning.

Latest Helco update. Still nearly 20,000 people without power, and still learning about so many more without power each day, that it is almost as many as get hooked up each day. Have yet to see any of the 3 neighborhoods in the Kehena area mentioned by name, nor Black Sands. Word around yesterday (who knows how reliable?) was that the lines that lead to these places had not been assessed yet. http://www.hawaiielectriclight.com/helco...-August-14

As of about 12pm today I have seen evidence that Helco is moving in to repair a short distance (from about the top of Kamaili to just before the Aiona's residence), of tel line that stops just before the Aiona's residence
