Update: Hearing Set for Tomorrow (*Snipped - More at link)

http://www.staradvertiser.com/news/break...=271143681

HILO >> U.S. Rep. Colleen Hanabusa on Wednesday asked a state court to delay Friday's vote in two Puna precincts that could settle her Democratic primary against U.S. Sen. Brian Schatz.

The congresswoman is seeking a temporary restraining order from Circuit Court in Hilo to postpone the election until Puna residents have had more time to recover from Tropical Storm Iselle.

A hearing has been scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Thursday before Judge Greg Nakamura in Hilo.

FYI: Update (*More at link _ Bold by me)

Brian Schatz and Colleen Hanabusa are in primary overtime, and as of 3 p.m., a little more than 1,000 voters have cast their ballot. Polls close in Puna at 6 p.m., and we are expecting results as early as 7:15 p.m. Continue reading: http://bit.ly/1vT2bHY

This also decides other races, right? (ie. Hanohano & Iligan).

Good luck to all candidates. Do we think Hanabusa will file a suit post election if she loses?

FYI: Update per KHONNews & HawaiiNewsNow (Keoki Kerr):

There are now 800 votes from MAUI that will be included in the result from Puna. (*Link not up yet.)

There were also a few very upset people on the news report who were not allowed to vote, who showed up anyway to voice their disdain.

ETA: It is being stated by Joe Moore (KHON) that 1,508 votes were cast today. No link yet, sorry.

Update: Candidates React to 800 Maui Votes: (KHONTV)

Candidates for U.S. Senate react to news of 800 uncounted votes from Maui. "I'm stunned, I'm really stunned," said Rep. Colleen Hanabusa.

"This is appalling and outrageous," said Sen. Brian Schatz.

maybe heads will roll on this one ... bad enough they make poor decisions on the storm, but then they mislay 800 votes that were already duly cast. Wow. What if there are more votes lying around somewhere?

I predict Hanabusa will not say another word about litigating in the event she wins tonight. Even though the unfairness to the people would be exactly the same. If she loses, she will start looking for legal grounds to sue.

Per Hawaii News Now: Schatz 49% to Hanabusa 48% (*Less than 2,000 votes)

Hesitated in showing this here, but it was posted publicly, a few days ago. Rumor only perhaps, but from a site I no longer link to.

FYI:

(*Name deleted) I have been informed of information that is very troubling of the handling of Absentee Ballots. Voters would be shocked if they knew the TRUTH!!!

(*Name Deleted) Speak your mind (*Name Deleted)

(*Name Deleted) ~ A very close friend of mine has been responsible since 2002 for a certain district for many years in Hilo. She informed me today about all absentee ballots... And that it is "NOT COUNTED" unless there is a close tie. She states it's been like that for many years and many people don't know about it. Also, another close friend of mine received two absentee ballots, one at her physical home and one at her p.o box. What's going on! I'm praying on this on what steps to take next!

Why do you no longer link to the site where you found this unfounded rumour?

BTW: If I want made up news I'll go watch Fox or buy a tabloid by the checkout counter.
