Kind of F#$ked
#1
Im pretty much F$%ked.

The bank wont let me close on my house because a tree snapped the line, and so there is a live wire on the ground.

HELCO has no idea when they will get to fixing it.

My lease on my rental is up in 3 weeks.

Is it possible to extend your lease?

Most likely not, its a vacation rental.

Get an electrician to fix it.
Assume the best and ask questions.

Where is the service line disconnected from, the HELCO side or from your house to be side?

The wires snapped in the middle. My meter is on the house. It needs to be re-wired. An electrician can not do it.

That's a bummer. To bad my condo at Bayshore Towers is rented out, I would not have a problem with you guys staying there. Start thinking of plan B.

Helco seems to urge customers still without power to call 969-6666, maybe that would help, especially if it is a live wire. Here is the website where I found the phone number: http://bigislandnow.com/2014/08/18/some-...rom-power/

Ive called them multiple times, as well as the seller, and both agents. The Word I got this morning was, they aren't sure when they will start getting to personal peoples properties, as they aren't even done getting the regular grid up, live wire or not :/

I am hoping it will all work out in the next week or so, just really sucks and makes me nervous. I have one of those brains that wont shut off at night until everything gets sorted.

I still say that an electrician can make a down live wire go away.
Assume the best and ask questions.
