In Puna the thin veneer of civilization, taken as the entirety of creation by the civilized people of Oahu, is easily seen for what it is. Here one experiences reality: volcanoes, rugged coastline, rugged individuals, wild surf, the best farmer's market, and, most importantly, a community where aloha actually exists. I love Puna.

In Puna - It can be a drought after only 4 days without rain.

In Puna - It can rain on one side of the road and not the other.

In Puna - It can be scorching HOT down by the coast and a few miles up the hill can be 15 degree's cooler .
