flyingsurfer,
Are you saying that anyone who disagrees with the actions of this board should be removed from HPPOA meetings for exercising their right to speak at a meeting of an organization that they pay for?
That would be draconian and undemocratic, just the suggestion reveals that the supporters of this board consider any criticism of "their" board to be illegitimate, and that they are unwilling to even entertain the idea that "their" board might have done something wrong. At the last meeting I attended supporters of this board constantly heckled people who were using their 3 minutes to address the board, and talked over the speakers so I couldn't hear what was being said. Should I have demanded they be removed?
I don't even know June, have never spoken to her, but I do know that the behavior and actions of the person who is supposed to represent my district, as well as other board members, have me deeply concerned about having to fund a large payout for lawsuits through increased road fees. So just because you have an axe to grind with the former president, don't trample my right to petition the governing body of HPP.

I think most people are like myself, uninformed about the facts of the matter. I am neither pro no anti the present board or the last either. I had no problems with the employees who are at issue here.
What I am is someone who does not like to see other people shouted down or bullied by either side for asking a question or stating their opinion.
I believe cabal is an accurate term, but coven is not.
At that meeting I didn't get any answers, but I did learn there are people I will no longer trust to present facts honestly.
The people who should be removed are the ones from either camp who harass others for asking reasonable questions or those trying to answer them.
Bad behavior by either side does not excuse it for the other. The vast majority would just like a rational explanation of what has transpired, so they can make an informed decision.

That is not what I am saying. You should read what I said again. When a small group of people take over a meeting and don't let people defend them self's. And yell at you from there seats. Need to wait their turn to come up to talk. I have seen June shut down a meeting for a lot less. Yet remains quite when it is in her favor. The group that took over the meeting DID NOT let the board defend themselves. Or let them tell us what is going on. They have done this from the first meeting of the new board. They make accusations with no proof. I have a right to here what the board has to say. They do not have the right to prevent that. I have called in the past for the board to step down.(the board before this one.) And have called for June to step down. She called for this member meeting. She should have told the members at the meeting why. She did not. We do not know the facts. We need to hear them. Not opinion. People have a right to their opinion. But not their own facts.

Had it occurred to you that the Board Members already knew they were on the path of mediation prior to the meeting through conversation with legal counsel. Are you really that far out there that you think the news has to come in the form of a letter?”
That is not what Ordchidlandguy reported was stated at the meeting.

IMHO the highlights of last night's meeting were
1. There is NO lawsuit against HPP.
2. Both sides( HPP board and 3 fired employees) are in mediation. They were in mediation before this meeting.”
Which was countered by the timeline put forward by James Weatherford.
What this indicates to me is that many of the interlocutors here are talking “at” each other, rather than “with” each other, including misunderstandings (as yours above) and, perhaps, willful misinterpretations.
Why has the Board not used the HPPOA website to put forward its position?

Who is "Jane", which you imply is my "real" name? I will be happy to meet with you, to show you my driver's license and dispel this misunderstanding.
If, as you assert, the Board will not present its position to the membership "because it's in mediation", it takes the wind out of the sails of many of the above posters who condemned the conduct of the most recent meetings (both Board and Membership) which did not allow the Board to speak.
What questions did I want the Board to answer "for the lawyer"?
While I don't claim this is my position, your last question (and opinion) could just as easily be turned around. "Why are you helping the Board? You are working against HPP." It's a matter of perspective.

When did I say that there is a lawsuit or that I do not believe “they are in mediation”? Or that I do not “want them to be in mediation”?
My first three posts (09/07/2014 at 05:49:50, 08:27:37, and 09:36:26) were related to the possible abrogation of three Hawaii Revised Statutes related to breach of employee confidentiality. Nothing to do with a possible lawsuit or mediation.
My next post (09/08/2014 at 13:49:32) asked if the Board's statement that mediation was under way had been confirmed. I would have asked the same question if the assertion had come from the former employees.
My post on 09/09/2014 at 17:11:20 pointed out possible misunderstandings about the status of the mediation. No judgment was indicated by me about that status.
I notice you have seriously edited your post of 09/09/2014 at 17:23:47, removing your address of me as “Jane(t)” and your response to my question why the Board has not put its position on the website. Most particularly, you removed your accusation that I am “helping the employees”. If you have changed your mind about those statements, would it not have been more honest to admit that? If you haven’t changed your mind, why did you delete them?

Good questions.
Anyone have info?
Thanks.

AS a new owner in HPP, I am currently neutral. I do not know the details of any of this, but just the board meeting in secrecy is sketchy enough for me to not like it.

Has anyone noticed that a certain faction that is spending a lot of energy to tear down the new board are those that handled HPP's money? And doesn't it then make you wonder why they're expending so much energy, time and money towards this goal? The ad in the paper must've cost a couple hundred dollars to post the unofficial agenda for the Special Membership Meeting. An eyewitness saw Mrs Weatherford stuffing Tribune boxes with one of the versions of their agenda. Eyewitnesses saw the former pres JC spread her propaganda flyers in the community, HPP NW and PAKA NW meetings with petition in hand. And what's up with that? I thought NW was about neighbors joining together in protection of criminal activity. Isn't this outside their scope of responsibility and doesn't this divide people? I heard the guy with the red hat and yellow tshirt scripted the petition. JC is the HPP NW treasurer, hmmmm.
JC and her cabal decided the original agenda they served the board wasn't mean spirited enough. They wanted to rake the new Board over the coals it seems. JC who spearheaded this illegal hostile take over under the guise of a Special Membership Meeting sat smug while her puppets did all her work. Steve Crawford poised by the owner imput mike jumped up like a jack in the box and grabbed the mike as soon as the meeting was called to order amending the original agenda and taking over the meeting, which was illegal. Does this make the whole meeting null and void? The previous board treasurer hit the top of an employee's hand breaking her skin with her clipboard. Clueless owners who don't attend board meetings, were behaving like an angry mob out for blood. Come on, this can't just be about terminated employees or the process. There's more going on here with all this misplaced anger towards the new Board. Follow the money. Why lot owners are listening to this other faction and aren't more concerned with their money is beyond me.
Didn't anyone hear the report at one of the earlier meetings that the cub cadet and items were missing from the warehouse? That the cub cadet was recovered from a former employee's house? That seemed to go right over many lot owner's heads. Wow! A former board member asked the GM for an inventory list and was given the run around. The director never got the list after several attempts and it's in the ByLaws to provide an annual inventory list.
JC and her cabal's agenda was to prevent the new board from speaking for over 2 hrs and to beat up the new board. A lot of owners left in disgust by the time any of the new Board were allowed to speak. The so called parliamentarian wasn't certified and was clearly biased as well as the facilitator. If the new Board had been allowed to speak earlier in the meeting, perhaps the angry mob would've turned to JC, previous treasurer and Finance Committee to get answers about their mismanaged money and property. Didn't it concern anyone out there that the new Treasurer said there are irregularities in the accounting that warrants a forensic audit? Or that she said the terminations' process was done to protect HPPOA's assets? Sometimes fired employees destroy, delete, remove important documents or property, which has happened in a lot of businesses. It's best to be safe. I haven't heard a peep of concern over their money on PunaTalk or on Facebook. The treasurer promised to provide more information once the mediations and forensic audit were completed, that's IF JC AND HER CABAL don't continue to divert your attention and interfere as they have been, from you getting the real info of what's going on. Sit tight and let's allow the new Board to do their work because they sure have had a lot of disruptions since they started. Next time there are diversions and disruptions, look to see who's behind it.
