In the image I see, there are standing albizia trees that were blown down by Iselle on property next to our farm, makai of bypass.

That link does not show Google Earth images. You have start up Google Earth (download it first if you don't have it) and look there.

For HPP the image quality is much worse in the August 2014 version, compared to the "high definition" one from 2013...

So far Google has been purchasing their imagery from third party vendors, but recently purchased their own satellite company (Skybox) pending the regulatory process. An example of their new imagery is here: http://static.squarespace.com/static/529...iberty.png

Google hopes to kill two space birds with one stone. In addition to offering real-time imagery, future launches aim to incorporate satellite internet as well to offer internet service in underserved areas. It seems Google has seen the writing on the wall by watching the ugly dispute between Netflix and Verizon and other internet providers. Google plans to have the technology to bypass them entirely. That should give them a lot of leverage plus billions of more people to serve their ads to.

if google had their own satellites, that would be a huge advantage.
