Guess it is official that there is no longer a RTSC.
There is a link on the main home page of HPPOA that links to committees.
this link lists these committees:
Community Action Plan (CAC)
Fugitive Dust Committee
Emergency Action Committee (EAC)
Nominating Committee P
aths and Parks Committee
Albizia Committee
Finance Committee
Human Resources Committee
School Committee
I didnt realize we now have a school committee.

Kalakoa, Mahalo for the chuckle! (much needed.)
Reni, you get it. (I haven't found a raisin yet ... lots of fruit loops...I'm car sick in the bus full of clowns. I keep trying to look to the horizon like my Daddy taught me...)
Mermaid, I'm with Reni. Thanks but no thanks. "Committees are only as strong as the Board they serve".
Orchidlandguy, so sorry. I know what it feels like to be threatened here.
I'm taking a break from all this anger and angst.
Aloha everybody! Take care!

"Guess it is official that there is no longer a RTSC."

I do not remember if this committee was formulated by the membership or the Board.
( Committee of the membership verses Committee of the Board ). Who has the authority to disband this committee is one question. "How" it is disbanded is another matter. "How" is a matter of process. I will assume that this was a Board committee. If the Board voted on disbanding this committee, where and when did it vote? Did this vote occur at one of the RTSC meetings? There are people who read this post that know the answer. I sincerely hope that it was more than just a letter to RTSC members stating that "Part of the BOD's job is to set aside committees that could be better served by forward thinking committees".
And yes, we now have a school committee . It was voted on and passed at the last Special Board of Director's meeting. I can not recall if the vote came before the MEMBERSHIP vote on the stale cookies and bottled water or after it.

The RTSC was a 4 year old board appointed committee. It was appointed for another year in July or August 2014. It was decommissioned effective immediately via email from the President to the RTSC Chairperson. If the decision was voted on during an executive session, then it was done improperly as decommissioning committees isn't part of the format for executive sessions per our bylaws.

Does anyone know where the agenda for the November's BOD meeting can be found?

Just a wild guess but I suppose they might not have figured that out yet. You know.....with their history of leading by afterthought.
On the HPP website it looks like they are down to a band of 4 plus Francis (hasn't he been on the board forever?). Don't they all have to show up in order to have a quorum and make it a legal meeting? Does Francis want to legitimize their actions, or will he stay home?
I don't know the process of seating new board people but do you think anyone actually wants be to associated with this poorly thought out coup? So what happens if another one of them quits? No more board? No more manager? Just what sort of braniac came up with this ill-sotted leadership plan?
The weeds at the intersections are getting tall and should be cut back to protect lines of sight. Didn't the board (or the manager) just decide (perhaps illegally) to shut down the road safety committee?
In the past I could just drop in the office or call one of the nice staff who worked there and they would take care of it (tall weeds, fallen signs). But now, who do I even try talking to about legitimate concerns? The lady who will only talk to people who are nice to her? Her husband the super volunteer (who is working for free I might add, as if that really mattered) I have heard that the board is searching for a new manager, but what sort of effective manager would want to work for such a dysfunctional board that has a history of foolish shortsighted actions? And who would want to work for an irrational group of policy makers who don't bother to follow their own policies? And just might want to fire you for no reason at all?

Great observations Steve.
The membership should vote on the RTSC as a membership committee in February and the Board will have no authority over it!
