This isn't the mainland. Let's keep Ferguson where it belongs.

I have never been approached by anyone in Pahoa, "derelict" or otherwise.
She has quite a few real and imagined enemies in Pahoa so perhaps in her eyes we are all forever unclean.

Punatic007, where is it stated that she works for Mitch Roth?

Thanks Punatic007. First I've heard that she supposedly works for Mitch Roth. I highly doubt it. I think she is backing up SheaG to deter folks from visiting Puna.

Whoa, I wrote that I (Thought) she worked for him or his office. That was an impression that I had from some of her previous posts. Sorry for the assumptions or rumor milling I may have started. Kathy seemed very knowledgeable about the law and or past and ongoing investigations in our area. Anyway the bashing of her (Kathy) here does not seem fair until we can read her defense or side to the rumors. Her intentions always seemed positive here on this forum.

A great deal of their posts on TA fall under the inappropriate section of the policies and guidelines as when they are combined together they are indeed a smear campaign of the brands of this general area, be it the brand Pahoa or Kapoho, etc.
They are constantly posting things that are of second and third hand sources which the guidelines stipulate that reviews are only allowed if they are of personal experiences in the past year, etc. There's a clear smear campaign over all between the two of them. This is something that will require everyone read the terms and policies including the subset blue lined links within the policies. When you get the gist of everything applicable and not applicable, their posts regarding the Puna region are a majority inappropriate. These need to be collected together as a whole and presented to the TA moderators by not just one individual but by several. Also, report each individual post that falls under the inappropriate meanings as not relevant to travel or wrong forum when they are part of the collective smear campaign. Watch for their self promotion posts too and report them. Above all else read the full scope of the guidelines and you'll see a vast majority of their posts violate the terms. Also a DE's posting standards don't have the latitude allowances that standard members have. Also note that inciting a community to attack an individual is regarded as a violation of the policies. It doesn't stipulate that inciting a community to attack yourself is okay nor does it stipulate the particulars of what inciting means, it could mean lying, smearing etc.

Here are some of the prior posts that someone (more than likely either KathyG or SheaG have flagged for removal as you can see - the post deleted were not in any violation of TA guidelines and many times these Women post the same type of posts. Listed below are the posts that TA was requested removed from what’s nice about Pahoa Thread?"
Removed posts: 35. Re: What is nice about Lower Puna and Pahoa area? Nov 28, 2014, 9:52 AM As a long time (a dozen wonderful stays of between 4 and 7 day) Pahoa Fan, Mahalo to PahoaGal (and other supporters). As the person who initially nominated SheaG for Destination Expert; I regret having done so. THIS WAS PROBALY DELETED AS IT NAMED SheaG Specifically and did not really have to do with the topic “whats nice in Pahoa” BUT what was nice about that post is it was from a prior visitor to lower Puna and has been coming here for years. So this was from a visitor that does not appreciate their postings either and can see the negative and bias effects their posts are having. ____________________________________ 36. Re: What is nice about Lower Puna and Pahoa area? Nov 28, 2014, 12:12 PM Kehena is the most likely place to find the clothing optional lifestyle, if that's what you are into. There certainly aren't hordes of folks wandering around Pahoa in the buff. On my twice weekly trips to Hilo, I see the same ratio of 'homeless' as I see in Pahoa. As for the crime rates....the east side in general has 2-3 times more crime as the west side, not just Puna. Crime stats can be misleading until you breakdown the specific crimes (burglary, assault, car theft, etc.) by each district. Bringing up child abuse...really? According to the stats I found with my working internet, South Hilo is much worse for child abuse. #35 WHY DELETED? I think because it mentioned child abuse.. I did not see any posts the DE posted regarding child abuse in the "whats nice about Pahoa thread" they may have did on another thread but I cannot find where they did on the "what’s nice about Pahoa thread" thus I think TA deleted it, but not really sure. __________________________________ 37. Re: What is nice about Lower Puna and Pahoa area? Nov 28, 2014, 12:18 PM "It happened to me my last trip, and every single time I visit I notice the derelicts, yes, absolutely. My family has used the Bay Clinic in Pahoa for almost a decade of medical care, thus requiring frequent trips to Pahoa for that alone (not the only reason I go). Plenty of killing time on the trips where I offered the transportation, as the Bay Clinic doesn't see people remotely on time, sometimes hours of waiting. Each time I have heard and seen things in public that were not at all the norm for me around Hilo, and even more so not in Kohala." KamaainaK I hope you don't expect folks to believe that you are commuting to Pahoa from the Hamakua coast for medical care? If you are referring to years ago when you lived in lower Puna, it isn't clear. BUT THIS ONE #37 - I cannot come up with a reason for deletion – none! What was so bad about the post? Could it be because it questions kathyH original post and the validity of it? AND if deleted because it questioned KathyH posts then why is it any different than them attacking and questioning almost each and every post PahoaGal has made? They have not flagged her posts but they have come back questioning the validity and the reason for posting. Something really fishy about which posts get deleted and which ones do not. Curious to see what transpires.. last post was by PahoaGal which simply commented on the crime on the island and gave a link to Hawaii police department which list reported crimes in all areas of the island – and then she also stated that Pahoa had a nice community swimming pool but also gave a link to the other island swimming pools. I doubt if the DE can say anything negative about that post but we shall soon see if anything negative comes from that posting.

gypsy69, I don't know if she works for Mr. Roth's office or not. She might be a volunteer. My gut feeling is that if she did work for his office, she would have mentioned it before.

Gypsy,
Intentions are irrelevant when the facts stand for themselves. It doesn't matter why someone chooses to inflict defamation via libel, simply that they do it as with most all crimes. I do not have any background in law, however I would venture a guess that she's breaking the law and could easily be sued for damages. On another thread KathyH did verify that she is the prolific puna bashing Destination Expert of TripAdvisor. And she exhibited zero remorse or concern for the well being of Puna businesses or their owners. Instead she rationalized her actions and has continued on her rampage. |
