For those not on the Puna Pono Alliance email list, there's a call to show up to PGV's Pahoa meeting Monday evening to show solidarity for neighbors who want PGV to follow the night-time drilling ban.

What: Puna Geothermal Venture (PGV) community meeting
When: January 19, @ 6:30pm.
Where: Pahoa High School Cafeteria.
Why: PGV plans to drill without following the county ordinance that prohibits drilling between 7 PM and 7 AM

I was curious, so discovered a little more about "Deep Green Resistance". This is not a cute little group of people.

From the above page, their own words:

pahoated - would you mind explaining the differences between traditional geothermal technology used in Iceland, such as the Svartsengi power station that provides the water for the Blue Lagoon Spa, and the geothermal techniques used here by PGV and why the resulting fluids might be different?

The gas in question is H2S, not SO2
