Suspicious activity in HPP - Kaloli Pt
#1
Got this from a neighbour. Please keep a look out.

"[...] My son Ted went out with the dog and a mag lite, the driver was local, slim build, mid twenties. There were 2 or more people hiding in the rear seats. They gave some info of looking for a Marsallis and an address that doesn't match our area. It took 40 minutes for the police to show. Ted described the vehicle as an SUV Ford older model, either cream, yellow, or white with plate HCS840"

Thank you.

Heard someone in HPP got robbed the other day, took his bike, wedding rings, Go Pro cam... And other things.

Almost makes me nervous enough to buy an alarm system for my home. Sigh...

Don't have time for a dog. What do to...

Noticing the criminals seem to have overworked Hilo and now are working over HPP. Watch out for your neighbors and call the police on suspicious activity.

Crime in HPP is at an all-time low thanks to vigilant neighbors, as demonstrated in the first post.

Some people like to share their delusion, as demonstrated in other posts.

TomK -
I'm not sure if this is the same group of people, but a month or two ago I had three people drive up to my home in HPP, park, get out, and walk around the outside of my home. After a minute I went out to ask if I could help them with anything, they said they were looking for someone, got in their car and left:

1990's White Ford Bronco with black stripe (OJ Simpson SUV)
3 occupants, all in their 20's, 2 male, 1 female

If they were really looking for someone, I think they would have come up and knocked on the door.
Looked pretty sketchy to me.

Lol, hereontheprimaledge. You and your place were being Cased? I use to see this same style down nanawale a decade or two ago. Unfortunately it happens all to often everywhere here in puna, must learn to hide the toys from strangers.

The best investment I may have ever made is a nice fence that encloses my house and 1 of my 3 acres. Add a dog or two and the thieves will simply skip your place and go on the next that might be easier for them. For even more safety add an outdoor camera. Real or fake. Both will work.

HOTPE, just spoke to "Ted", the guy that confronted the group. He said it wasn't a Ford Bronco and didn't remember seeing a stripe, so it doesn't sound as if it's the same vehicle. However the modus operandi seems to be identical.

Start taking pictures of people. Amazing how criminals hate that...
